I Fear

I Fear è un autoritratto video performativo girato con mezzi molto semplici, volutamente casalingo, nei mesi del primo di lockdown in Italia. Nel video l’io si “identifica” nella paura. 

L’inizio del video sembra spensierato – anche se l’azione del tagliare i capelli non è del tutto quotidiana ma appartiene alla comune condizione di isolamento – il motivetto sonoro accennato dalla voce sottolinea una situazione di leggera inconsapevolezza. 

Quanto il canto intimo si trasforma in un verso animalesco qualcosa cambia: la trasposizione sul piano visivo è l’assunzione di connotati da dittatore.

I Fear is a performative video self-portrait created with deliberately simple, domestic equipment, during the first months of lockdown in Italy. In this video, the self “aligns” with fear.
The video begins with a sense of lightness – although the act of cutting hair is not entirely quotidian, it aligns with the shared experience of isolation – while the brief melodic fragment introduced by the voice highlights a state of mild unawareness.
As the intimate song transforms into an animalistic utterance, a shift occurs: the visual transposition becomes the embodiment of dictatorial traits.
